Our process responds fully to the requisites of the
MIL-STD-276A and MIL-I-17563B+C Regulations

Receiving the material
At the moment of arrival the material is checked visually to see whether it corresponds to the treatment requisites, i.e. whether it is clean, dry, without shavings, as well as corresponding to the Ddt accompanying it.
The Identification File that accompanies the material to production is then compiled; finally the relative Production File is attached in which all the treatment procedures are indicated (method of loading the material into the chests, adjustment of the parameters of the process, the client's specific needs about packing the material, etc.).
Loading into the chests

The material is loaded into the chests adopting all the expedients indicated in the production file (quantity, arrangement, possible protections to avoid damage).

Starting the plant
Impregnation envisages a cycle of four passages that have an overall duration of about 40 minutes. The cycle time is only 10 minutes. This is the first strongpoint of our technology…"rapidity". After only 40 minutes the material reaches loading/unloading the chests time and is ready to be taken by the client.

1st passage - Autoclave. The chest containing the material is loaded into the autoclave and begins the so-called "dry vacuum" phase in which the air is extracted until reaching a residual pressure of 5 mbar (1 atm = 1013 mbar). This is the second strongpoint of our technology. Then the chest descends automatically into the lower part of the autoclave where it is totally immersed in the liquid resin. The 5 mbar vacuum is maintained for a few minutes longer - called "wet vacuum". With the chests totally immersed, the pressure of 1 atm in the autoclave is reset. The liquid resin, thrust by the atmospheric pressure for a fixed period, penetrates the pores of the material.
  2nd passage - Draining. The resin that soaks the pieces is recovered through dripping. To make recovery easy and, above all, to make it emerge from the cavity and the blind holes, the chests are subjected to a slow and continuous rotation. The resin gathers on the base of the tank and is returned into the autoclave automatically.
  3rd passage - Washing. Keeping the chest in continuous rotation, the material is adequately washed with water at room temperature. In this way all the liquid resin is eliminated from the surface of the pieces. The resin remains in the micro-pores by capillarity.
  4th passage - Polymerisation. The chest, kept continuously in rotation to favour the uniformity of treatment, is struck with powerful jets of hot water at 90 °C that heat the pieces causing the rapid and complete polymerisation of the resin contained in the micro-pores. This is a phase that lasts only 10 minutes. This is the third strongpoint of our technology. In only 10 minutes the complete and definitive polymerisation of the resin contained in the micro-pores takes place. Several hours of 'maturation', often recommended by other technologies, are absolutely no longer necessary. The component impregnated with our treatment can be immediately subjected to even severe testing. Just a few minutes to allow it to cool down.
Uploading the chests and packing
After cooling, the material is packed according to the ways requested and sent to the finished product store. At the same time the copy of the Identification File is attached to every container and delivered to the client. It is our habit to inform our clients by phone that the material is ready to be taken.

OF THE RESULTS
All the phases of the process are controlled by a PLC. The preliminary controls before becoming operational and during the performance of the plant are codified in specific check-lists that are compiled daily by the responsible person of each shift.

The three strongpoints of the IMP Maldaner technology that we use have created approval of the IM3000 resin by the most important automobile companies.

Our relationship cannot stop at the simple impregnation of the material. If requested, we can avail ourselves of the cooperation of others through third parties, in particular electroplaters, so that our clientele can find a complete service for their products in Padua.
